The Mayo Radio Experimenters Network is based in Castlebar, Co. Mayo. Ireland.

The club was established in 1997 by a number of like minded amateur radio operators from the Mayo area, John McDonnell, EI6IR, was the first Chairperson.

The society has an active membership of people involved in the hobby of amateur radio. The club holds it’s meetings on the first Wednesday of every month at 9.00p.m. local time in Breaffy House Hotel, Breaffy, near Castlebar. Anybody interested in amateur radio, short-wave listening, electronics, computers etc. are very welcome to come along.

If you wish to become a club member ? Annual Membership fee is €30.00

We have a relatively small number of members and your support is greatly appreciated to keep the club viable and the Mayo Repeater on the air. 

The Club is a member of the Irish Radio Transmitters Society, (IRTS), the national body representing radio amateurs in Ireland. EI0M and EI7MRE are the amateur radio callsigns issued to the club by Comreg.

We operate /portable on all of our outings as we have a caravan converted for use as our mobile shack and a wind-up trailer tower to support the antennas .
